What Are The Pros And Cons Of Living In Orlando Florida?
The weather, the local job market and the overall cost of living are the pros of living in Orlando Florida. The cons of living in Orlando Florida are the many local toll roads and traffic around Walt Disney World. I would rank Orlando FL much higher than the national average for overall quality of life.
The Orlando area is known for its warm weather, public transportation, endless urban sprawl and beautiful downtown area. There is also much more to the city. Property taxes are tolerable and yes, less than in Tampa FL. Moving to Orlando Florida is a fairly easy decision to make one you get to know most of the greater Orlando area.
Orlando Public Transportation System in Orange County FL
The Lynx public bus system, Amtrak and the new highspeed rail to South Florida make up the most beneficial parts of the public transportation. You will find electric bikes and scooters scattered around downtown Orlando and that trend is slowly spreading in Central Florida as a whole. Still the Lynx bus system is probably the most widely used. Amtrak's station is just south of downtown and the Brightline to South Florida departs the Orlando International Airport.
Walt Disney World Universal Studios Orlando & Many Theme Parks Nearby
The positive impact of over 70,000,000 visitors a year is widely thanks to the many theme parks in the greater Orlando Florida-Kissimmee FL area. Just the sales tax gathered from the short term rentals within the city I am sure is staggering. I am certain most tourist blow their entertainment budget long before discovering the many other location in Orlando worth visiting.
Orlando Florida Hurricane Season
With average temperatures rarely under 55 degrees in the winter months there has to be a downside. Actually, no there isn't. Orlando Florida rarely sees hurricane force harsh winds and because of that our homeowner's insurance is substantially lower than major cities along the Atlantic coast. Warm temperatures in the winter allow us to continue to do fun things outdoors. Some of which I pass on during the humid summers.
Young professionals are flocking to Central Florida. The exciting nightlife and lively entertainment found in downtown Orlando will rival most big cities which is why the pop culture thrives here. The low cost of living and median price of a home and no state income tax seals the deal.
