What Do People Like About Orlando Florida Besides Theme Parks?
People like downtown Orlando and love living in Orlando. Orlando residents that do not work at the theme parks seldom visit a theme park after their first year here. Central Florida & the City Beautiful have much more to offer than Walt Disney World and Universal Studios and the many other popular theme parks.
A Strong Job Market-Public Transportation-Warm Climate
Most are pleasantly surprised to hear that the Orlando area has great public transportation and a very strong job market. The federal & state government, Walt Disney World and the tourism industry are the primary employers. Many people moving here initially start off with jobs in the theme parks or local restaurants. In the last 20 years or so the medical industry has been experiencing job growth and so have other professional sectors. Lake Nona is a prime example.
Public Transportation & Central Florida
Many locals may never think about public transportation but it still benefits them. Namely it keeps down the amount of cars and traffic on the street. One less car is a good thing for many reasons especially in larger cities. Life in the Orlando area would not be the same without attractions having employees to serve those tourists and many of those workers use public transport. Orlando is certainly superior to Tampa in this respect. Now the high speed rail has even made it easier to deal with a trip to Miami.
Warm Climate & Weather For Beaches Year Round
Tourist attractions here thrive year round not just in the summer. Because we have mild winters in Orlando FL the housing costs are lower in the winter months. Lower cost of living in Orlando is what attracts many from the pacific northwest. The average daily temperatures in January and February are 55 for a low and 75 for a high. Living in Orlando means you are one hour from the nearest beach.
Walt Disney World & Universal Studios Of Orange County Florida
Ok, so we have far more than the national average of theme parks in this city. It is common for a major city in Florida to have some types of attractions but Orlando overdosed on fun. There are more theme parks here than you can possibly imagine or visit in a year. Many communities have water parks inside of them. South Florida has summer heat and unlike other cities to the south Orlando is not surrounded by water. Hence, we have countless water parks.
